What a fun learning year this has been! In my "down-time" from running Seattle Farm School and raising my kids, I have been teaching an after-school enrichment class at our elementary school. The first two sessions I taught beginning sewing and this spring session was a gardening club! The kids learned all about companion planting, pollinators, built bug and fairy structures, trellises from bamboo (and had an awesome bamboo parade!), mulching, propogating and we ran lots of relay races! We had a blast turning the weedy raised bed in the courtyard into a healthy & productive organic garden. Yesterday we got to enjoy the first crop of peas! Beans will be coming on soon and the marigolds will start blooming this summer also! Enjoy the pics!
