Join local foraging expert Jeremy Puma for this two-part class. First learn how to identify and collect a number of the more common edible plants available in Fall in the urban Pacific Northwest, and then put your skills to the test on a local foraging field trip!

You'll learn foraging basics, including: 

  • How to ethically, sustainably, and safely collect wild edibles
  • Plant identification basics - learn a few of the most common local edible wild plant families
  • Culinary considerations - flavors and culinary characteristics of edible wild plants
  • Edible plant overview - an introduction to more specific local edibles

Bring a small lunch and sample some dishes made with wild local edibles! After lunch, we will go on a plant expedition and forage for a selection of wild edible plants that you can take home.

This class will run rain or shine, so please dress appropriately! Please also consider bringing:  camera/phones, pruners/clippers/kitchen scissors, zipper kitchen storage bags, and gardening gloves.

Each adult can bring a child with them for free!
