This class is essential for anyone striving to be more self-sufficient and interested in preserving the fresh food of spring and summer for year round use. With a little careful planning you can set yourself up with a pantry full of your garden harvest to enjoy long after the summer heat has ended. Lilly will help you plan your garden with an eye towards preserving for the year ahead. You will learn the benefits and strategies behind various storage methods including root cellaring, pickling and pressure canning, and be ready and armed with recipes for pickles, dilly beans, pepper jelly and tomato sauces for when your garden vegetables start filling your kitchen counter. You will get hands-on experience planting potatoes, beets, and carrots, and you'll leave with seeds for your own garden!

Each adult can bring a child with them for free!
