City Chickens in the Spring - April 7, $50 - West Seattle

from 0.00

There is nothing cuter than a handful of tiny, fuzzy chicks in the springtime! Are you ready to have a mini-flock join your family? Learn everything you need to be successful at caring for chickens in your backyard with our resident chicken expert Holly Briscoe

Spring is a perfect time to bring home baby chicks - by the time they are big enough to move into the coop, the days will be long, warm, and sunny. We'll teach you everything you need to know, including:

  • Coop set up (what works, what doesn't)
  • How to select your breeds (layers vs. meat birds)
  • Brooder set up and raising chicks from peepers to layers
  • Feeding and caring for chickens
  • How to be a chicken whisperer (or I have a flock of chickens in my yard, now what?)
  • Local resources for supplies

During the class we will tour a variety of chicken coop styles in the area - great inspiration to design and build your own! This class will take place outside, rain or shine.

Each adult can bring a child with them for free.

All tickets subject to our Terms and Conditions.

Location:  Private residence in West Seattle; address will be emailed to you prior to the class.
